Seeing Stars

My latest quilt is called 'Seeing Stars' as after I had made all the stars that is what I was seeing! I made a large central star with 3.5 inch strips which ended up being over 45 inches square. I then created some medium size squares, which were 12 inches square and then some smaller squares 8 inches square. These were all bordered with brown strips, which seemed to make the stars pop.

Stockpile of squares and strips

This pattern took me longer than my usual work as each star was made individually so there were hundreds of small squares and different size boxes.

It becomes more of an assembly line than a joy of sewing.

The contrast of the browns and oranges with the white make this quilt really look simple and stunning but was in fact a complicates pattern.

The finished result is I hope you agree a lovely vibrant quilt top.

I just have to quilt it now.
